Ideally, Thanksgiving is a time to circle the wagons around everything for which we are grateful. It should urge us to recognize gratitude isn’t a fleeting expression or a mood we don on our psyches like a mask. It’s an enduring bond that connects us through simple acts of kindness; it’s an energy that has the power to heal and transform. But it’s not always easy to be grateful.
